Vancouver couple escapes from car in sinkhole

A Vancouver, Wash. couple survived after a sinkhole swallowed the SUV they were in.

VANCOUVER, Wash. - A couple escaped out of an SUV after it fell into a sinkhole in Vancouver, Washington over the weekend.

Early Saturday morning, police said a water main broke at West 30th and Washington Street, causing the sinkhole to form.

The driver and passenger got out of the vehicle through the trunk and side door.

The two are both OK.

Crews were able to repair the water main break.
