CAPTURED: U.S. Border Patrol agent spots wanted sex offender who cut off GPS tracker

WHATCOM COUNTY- August 31, 2017
Christopher McCarty is in custody in Whatcom County after a U.S. Border Patrol Agent spotted him illegally entering the U.S. from Canada.  Deputies took custody of him in Blaine after he gave the agent a false name and tried to refuse having his fingerprints taken.
WANTED IN KING COUNTY —
A warning to anyone camping after a sex offender cut off his GPS tracking bracelet and may be hiding in the woods, or state parks.

Christopher McCarty is a Level 3 sex offender --- the worst of the worst -- who's wanted for failing to check in with the Department of Corrections after being busted for Communicating with a Minor for Immoral Purposes and two counts of Voyeurism.

He's also known to be violent and detectives think he may be in the wild. "He may be a survivalist and he may be hiding out in forests and maybe local state parks," said King County Det. Wendy Billingsley. "We're absolutely concerned about him. He's classified as a High-Violent Offender by Washington Department of Corrections and we're just concerned about getting him back in, finding out why he's failing to report and to make sure he doesn't hurt anybody else that's out there."

He's 50 years old.

If you can tell police where to find him, Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound will pay you a cash reward of up to $1,000.
