Styrofoam ban starts June 1

Starting June 1, everything from clamshell takeout containers to coffee cups to trays and other food and drink carriers will be outlawed, so long as those items are made from expanded polystyrene (EPS).

Inslee signs 'Strippers' Bill of Rights' into law

A bill designed to protect exotic dancers, better known as the "Strippers' Bill of Rights," has gotten its official stamp of approval from Gov. Inslee. With Inslee's signature, the law will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2025. The bill also greenlights sale of alcohol in adult venues.

Look back at WA 2024 legislative session

Lawmakers passed nearly 400 bills. Those include a bill banning police from hog-tying people in their custody, tighter restrictions on guns, a ban on octopus farming and a ban on child marriage.
