UPDATE: 10-month-old found safe inside stolen SUV; suspect in custody



WEST SEATTLE -- Police took a suspect into custody just an hour after an SUV was stolen with a 10-month-old baby inside.

Officers said a black Ford Edge was stolen around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday from a convenience store on the 1600 block of SW Holden Street. They said the suspect headed south toward White Center.

Police located the vehicle about 20 minutes later near 8th Avenue and SW 99th Street. Officers said they found the infant safe inside, but the suspect had taken off.



Seattle police said they had one person in custody around 4:20 p.m.

Investigators planned to release further information later in the afternoon.
