Suspect turns himself in for deadly beating

BELLINGHAM -- The man wanted in the beating death of a man at a Samish Way motel early Sunday morning has turned himself in. 34-year-old David Alan Solomon Jr. will likely face first-degree murder charges. He was booked into Whatcom County Jail early this morning.

Solomon allegedly kicked in the door of the victim's motel room and assaulted him. That man, identified as Ike P. Scarborough, died from brain injuries.

Police don't know what triggered this deadly beating.

The Bellingham Herald reports that another man has been arrested on suspicion of rendering criminal assistance, after he allegedly dropped Scarborough off at a hospital, after the attack.
