CAPTURED Dec. 5, 2016 --

Grant County sheriff's deputies say kidnapping suspect Shirley Jackson was found last week by U.S. Marshals in California. Angel Jackson, 6, is safe and has been reunited with her adoptive family.

Jackson has been booked into Grant County Jail. Arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 6.

WANTED IN GRANT COUNTY Oct. 21, 2016 --
Authorities in Moses Lake are trying to return 6 year old Angel Jackson to her legal guardian.

Deputies say the woman who took her is Shirley Jackson. They're not related even though they share the same name.

Shirley raised angel but didn't have legal custody of her.

The court ordered her to turn over Angel to a family who has custody of her brother.

Then, Shirley and Angel disappeared.

Deputies say they became concerned about Angel's safety when they learned Shirley has a criminal past and a history with Child Protective Services.

A warrant for 1st degree kidnapping has been issued for Shirley Jackson's arrest, but the real focus is on making sure angel is safe. "The stability of the child's life can be rocked by being on the run, always hiding, maybe she’s being disguised and we just don't want her to go through that kind of trauma so we're asking for the public's help to find Angel so we can get her reunited with her sibling and in the custody of her legal guardian,” says Kyle Foreman with the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Shirley Jackson is 57 years old, 5'7" and 170 pounds.

Angel is African-American, 3’9” and weighs 45 pounds.
