Puyallup Tribe donates $250k to Crime Stoppers, Toys for Tots

PUYALLUP -- The word Puyallup means the land of generous and giving people. And the people of the Puyallup Tribe often show their giving. The Puyallup tribe donated $125,000 to Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound, to Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers, helping continue the reward process for those that call into and offer tips. The tribe also donated $125,000 dollars to Toys for Tots, helping hose in need have a wonderful holiday. John Weymer, of the Puyallup Tribe, said he was proud to represent the Puyallup Tribe and their donation to such an important institution. "We know the good work that you guys do and we're excited to help," Weymer said.

George Hight of Toys for Tots said the gift helps in ways many could not imagine. "The purchase of toys, the rental of equipment to operate, trucks and all of the things that are necessary logistically to make this operation a success would just not be there without the kind and generous donation of the tribe."
