Rawls will reportedly be inactive for Seahawks' game against 49ers

SEATTLE – It’s shaping up to be a very big day for Christine Michael.

Or, at least, the Seattle Seahawks better hope it is.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Sunday morning that Thomas Rawls won’t play and C.J. Prosise likely won’t either when the Seahawks face the San Francisco 49ers at 1 p.m., leaving Michael as the lone good option in the team’s backfield.

The game will be televised on the home of the Seahawks, Q13 FOX, with Gameday pregame coverage beginning at 12:30 p.m.

Rawls has been a question mark all week after carrying the ball 19 times for 25 yards in the Seahawks’ first two games. Schefter reported that Rawls is suffering from a shin injury.

Michael has rushed 25 times for 126 yards.

Rawls underwent surgery after breaking his ankle last season, but the team had high hopes he’d be ready to replace Marshawn Lynch as the Seahawks starting running back by the time the season started.

On Saturday, the Seahawks promoted running back Terrence Magee from the practice squad to the 53-man roster to add some depth.
