Marshawn Lynch is reportedly considering a return to the NFL

SEATTLE – Take this for what it’s worth, but a report from Pro Football Talk suggests Marshawn Lynch is considering a return to the NFL.

Citing unnamed sources, PFT’s Mike Floria reported that the retired Seahawks running back is “up in the air about returning to the league, suggesting that Lynch could be eyeing a comeback in Week 4 or Week 5 of the season.

Because Lynch retired, the Seahawks still hold his rights. If he does decide he wants to come back, the team would have to decide whether to keep him, trade him or cut him outright.

The Seattle Times' Bob Condotta has a good explanation of the contractual difficulties a potential return would entail.

Lynch announced his retirement with a Tweet in February, but didn’t make it official until he filed his papers in May.
