WSP trooper goes the extra mile for stranded motorist near Stevens Pass

A Washington State trooper is spreading the holiday spirit. Last weekend Trooper Brian Zillmer was called out to a crash near Stevens Pass. Three Japanese exchange students from Bellevue slid over an embankment while they were headed to Leavenworth.

Fortunately, they weren't hurt. A tree saved them from going into the river.

A couple days later, Trooper Zillmer received an email from them asking for help getting their belongings out of the car because they had no means of transportation to get back to it.

Trooper Zillmer did them one better. On his day off, he got their belongings and then drove them to Leavenworth where they enjoyed lunch together and saw the Christmas village. A place they never made it to on Saturday.

The students left Trooper Zillmer a note saying:

"Thank you so much for everything. The accident became good memories for us thanks to you."
