WSDOT: Prepare for snow, ice during Thursday morning commute

SEATTLE -- With snow in the forecast early Thursday morning for parts of Puget Sound, the Washington State Department of Transportation issued an advisory Wednesday night to remind drivers to allow extra time and take it slow during the morning commute.

Below-freezing temperatures and flurries are expected by 1 a.m. in Whatcom and Skagit counties. South King County also could see snow showers.

WSDOT said it is prepared for snow and ice and that crews would be de-icing highways Wednesday night and have 17 trucks ready to respond to the weather.

Tips for driving in bad weather can be found on the WSDOT winter weather website.
