Wayward sheep wearing holiday sweater found wandering streets of Omaha

OMAHA, Nebraska -- Maybe he drank too much at a holiday party or maybe he was just cold?

Whatever the reason, a sheet wearing a Christmas sweater was found wandering the streets of Omaha this past weekend.

The Nebraska Humane Society posted a photo of the sheep on Facebook writing that animal control had picked him up and brought him in after someone called.

“If you’re missing a sheep that enjoys wearing Christmas Sweaters he’s here,” wrote NHS.

Elizabeth Hilpipre with the humane society told the Omaha World-Herald that the sheep is healthy, friendly and even walks well on a leash.

We’re thinking maybe he wandered away from a live nativity scene or maybe he was in an ugly Christmas sweater contest and just decided to leave,” Hilpipre told the newspaper.

The humane society’s policy is to hold an animal for three days with the hope of finding the rightful owner, but after that they’ll put him up for adoption.
