Washington woman gets nearly 35 years in death of 3-year-old

CHEHALIS, Wash. (AP) — A Vader, Wash., woman accused of killing a 3-year-old in what a judge called the worst case of child abuse he's ever seen has been sentenced to nearly 35 years in prison.

The Daily News of Longview reports (http://goo.gl/xwNw1K ) Brenda Wing was sentenced Friday for the death of Jasper Henderling-Warner.

She and her husband, Danny, received the same sentence after pleading guilty last year to first-degree manslaughter and other charges in the boy's death at their home in October 2014.

The boy's mother has said she left him in the couple's care for several weeks last year while she tried to find a job and quit drugs.

An autopsy showed the boy suffered extensive abuse before his death. Prosecutors said the boy had contracted a bacterial infection from wounds that the couple had inflicted upon him.
