TACOMA -- Medical marijuana shops have been offering holiday deals to customers for years, but this year retail shops are cashing in on the action.
Black Friday deals seem to come around earlier and earlier each year and here in Washington, there is a new market for the holidays.
Recreational pot shops hope customers will bring their green and buy some too.
"It's going to be very very busy we have extra staff extra security," said Rainier on Pine owner Don Muridan.
Muridan says he expects several hundred people to walk through his doors on Friday.
"We do basically the same , we're going to offer deep discounts for a lot of the cannabis products and a lot of the noncannibas products like pipes and vaporizers," he said.
Shoppers can expect discounts anywhere from 5 to 10 percent off cannabis products.
"I actually like the sound of Green Friday a lot better than Black Friday too," said shopper Ashley Kelty.
"This is a brand new industry 502 so people don't know about Green Friday -- not even a lot of the 502 stores know about it," Muridan said. "We know this is a really popular holiday for shoppers and why not if they can save money on other products why can't they save money on cannabis as well?"
Q13 FOX reached out to the Liquor Control Board for comment, but did not hear back before the broadcast Wednesday.
