Washington authorities search for missing Kentucky man who went camping

STEVENSON, Wash. (AP) — Authorities in southwest Washington are trying to find a Kentucky man who's been missing for weeks.

The Skamania County Sheriff's Department says 39-year-old Austin Oldfield last contacted his girlfriend Sept. 17. He was expected to spend two weeks camping.

The Oregonian reports that a car with Kentucky plates associated with Oldfield was found on Tuesday in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest near Lone Butte.

The sheriff's department confirmed Saturday that the search for Oldfield is continuing.
