Wanted Mason County sex offender captured in Montana after hours long manhunt

FUGITIVE CAPTURED August 19, 2016 --
U.S. Border Patrol Officers and Sheriff's deputies used a K-9 in Lincoln County, Montana to arrested Mason County sex offender, Pattrick Kennedy, following an hours long manhunt.

Officers with the Department of Corrections' Southwest Community Response Unit acted quickly when they received a tip via Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound that Kennedy was at a camp with a teenage girl he had taken from Bonners Ferry, Idaho.

They contacted authorities who responded quickly and safely recovered her but Kennedy took off running.  He was located after deputies followed him through the woods for hours.  He will be booked into the Lincoln County jail.

Kennedy was wanted for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender after he was convicted in 2007 of preying on a young girl multiple times — the first time happened when his victim was just four years old. During a polygraph test he also admitted to sexually assaulting more young kids.
