Viewer tip leads Seattle Police, U.S. Marshals to violent Oregon murder suspect

FUGITIVE CAPTURED Aug. 17, 2016 --
Seattle Police and U.S. Marshals arrested Oregon murder suspect, Lucas Perkins, a short while ago thanks to a viewer tip. The tipster saw our newscast last night and contacted police when they spotted Perkins by the Regal Thornton Place Stadium movie theater just south of Northgate Mall. Detectives say he had been hanging out there on the corner for a couple of days.

FUGITIVE WANTED IN KING COUNTY Aug. 16, 2016 --
A suspect in a homicide investigation from Coos Bay, Oregon has been spotted in north Seattle, according to authorities.

Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier says the body found Sunday morning was 64-year-old Richard Perkins.  An autopsy on Tuesday afternoon found that Perkins died from blunt force trauma to the head, KPTV in Portland reported.

Investigators in Coos County, Ore.,  have obtained a material witness warrant for the nephew, 36-year-old Lucas Mark Perkins. He has been named a person of interest in the homicide investigation.

Police say the victim's credit card was used at 10 p.m. Monday in at 2142 N. Northgate Way in Seattle.

Officers say Perkins has a history of violence and schizophrenia. He has family in the Bonney Lake area and is believed to be driving his uncle's gray 2012 Mazda MZ3 registered to Richard Perkins with Oregon license 401 FXN.

Lucas Perkins is 6' tall and 160 pounds with blue eyes and brown hair.
