Two rescued from car that fell 150 feet down embankment at Point Defiance Park

TACOMA -- Two elderly adults were rescued from a car that fell 150 feet down an embankment at Point Defiance Park.

Crews were called to the Narrows side of the park Thursday afternoon.

According to the Tacoma Fire Department, two people were trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters said at 1 p.m. that a technical rescue team was headed to the scene.

Shortly after 2 p.m., firefighters said two elderly people were pulled from the car and taken to the hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
