Tip leads to surrender of convicted felon accused of escaping from courtroom, Leroy Scott

scottFUGITIVE CAPTURED May 19, 2013 -- Leroy Scott surrendered at a house in Tacoma last Sunday, after police got a tip he was there on S. Ainsworth St. FUGITIVE WANTED IN PIERCE COUNTY March 8, 2013 – It’s all caught on camera – a Pierce County fugitive creates quite a stir in the courtroom before he flees. He’s still on the run and police are looking for convicted felon Leroy Scott. Scott was in court for eluding police – that’s right – he’s now wanted for the same crime he’s already committed. In the video, you can see Scott, in the neon green Seahawks jersey, pacing around, getting mad and then he tries fighting past the deputy, who takes him down to the ground. But Scott gets up, jumps over the jury box, and runs out of the courthouse. “Scott's been in jail many, many times -- over 20 -- and when he was sentenced, knowing he was going away for a long time, he fought his way out of the courtroom, assaulted people and took off running,” said Pierce County Sheriff’s Office detective Ed Troyer. This all went down last month, and Scott hasn't been seen since. Scott is 33 years old, and it’s clear he doesn’t want to do his time, so it's going to take a tip from you for Pierce County deputies to catch him. Call the tipline at 800-222-TIPS if you know where Scott is hiding. You can text a tip here.
