OLYMPIA, Wash. -- Thurston County Sheriff John Snaza says he will return to work next year following a motorcycle crash in Montana that kept him out since late August.
The sheriff suffered life-threatening injuries during an off-duty motorcycle crash Aug. 23. He was traveling with friends in Sanders County, Montana, when he lost control of his Harley-Davidson while going around a curve. Snaza suffered a punctured lung, a lacerated kidney and other injuries.
In a video message posted on the sheriff department's Facebook page over the weekend, Snaza apologized for being away and thanked everyone for their blessings and prayers.
He says he's looking forward to serving Thurston County residents.
