Suspect in Lynnwood apartment murder arrested in California

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Officials say a suspect has been arrested in the September murder of a man in his apartment north of Seattle.

Lynnwood police said Friday that after Christopher Davis was found dead by officers called to check his welfare on Sept. 20, detectives learned his vehicle had been stolen and entered it into a national database.

On Thursday, a transit police officer in Santa Clara, California, noticed the vehicle and had the driver detained.

Detectives from Washington flew to California to interview the driver, 23-year-old Christopher Garcia Gonzalez, whom they say is their murder suspect. They've issued a $1 million warrant for his arrest on murder and theft charges.

Police say Gonzalez is currently in the Santa Clara County Jail awaiting extradition to Washington where he will be booked.
