Study abroad student sends life-sized cutout home so family won't forget him, mom takes it from there

LONDON, England --  An American student studying aboard in London says he was worried his family would forget him when he was away so he mailed his mom a life-sized cardboard cutout of himself.

“I thought it would be funny if my mom checked the mail and there was a giant goofy cutout of me waiting for her,” Dalton Ross told  Upvoted.

Dalton's mom, Susan Talley, was apparently tickled by the gift.  So much so that she decided to take it one step further.

Truthfully, she ran a marathon from there.

"Dalton sent us a replica of himself while he's traveling the world so we thought we'll have Some fun," wrote Susan on Facebook.

Since receiving the special delivery Susan has taken the Dalton stand-in all over Nashville where they live.  She has photographed the cutout at the doctor's office, eating out with the family and most recently hunting Easter eggs.

She posts all the photos on a new Facebook page documenting the adventure.

"It'll be like Where's Waldo meets Elf on the Shelf," wrote Susan.

Indeed it is Susan.
