Spokane man accused of impersonating a police officer

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — A 31-year-old Spokane man is accused of flashing a fake police badge, claiming to be an officer and trying to force his way into a woman's apartment.

The Spokesman-Review reports that Roman Moyseyenko was booked into the Spokane County Jail on Tuesday on investigation of residential burglary and criminal impersonation.

He was released Tuesday after a brief court appearance in Spokane County Superior Court.

Court documents show the woman told police a man knocked on her apartment door and identified himself as a police officer. He reportedly asked about her car and whether she had a boyfriend.

The documents say the man reportedly jammed his foot into the door and held it open. He left when police were called.

He later reportedly told police that he believed the women had stolen his stereo.
