Shoreline homeowner shoots, kills intruder; 2 other robbery suspects arrested

SHORELINE, Wash. -- Detectives have arrested two outstanding suspects after a home invasion robbery left a third suspect dead Saturday morning in Shoreline.

Police were called around 7 a.m. to a home in the 14500 block of Whitman Ave N.

A man living in the residence told police he woke up when three men kicked in the front door -- two of them armed with rifles.

Detectives said the suspects ordered the victims to their knees while demanding drugs and money. The homeowner was able to wrestle a rifle away from one of the suspects. Detectives said he then shot one of the intruders, but the other two got away.

First responders pronounced the suspect, a 26-year-old Shoreline man, dead at the scene.

Detectives have arrested the two outstanding suspects, a 26-year-old Seattle man and a 27-year-old Seattle man, since the home invasion robbery. Both were booked into King County Jail for investigation of robbery and burglary.

Investigators say the case will be forwarded to the King County Prosecutor's Office which will review the case for filing charges against the two suspects. The office will also decide whether charges will be filed against the homeowner.
