SFD: Hours of clean-up after vacant home burns

SEATTLE -- The Seattle Fire Department says it will spend hours cleaning up after a vacant home caught fire in the Rainier Valley.

Just before 9:30 a.m. Sunday, firefighters were called to a home on fire in the 7200 block of S Ryan street.

When firefighters arrived, they found a fire burning through the roof of a vacant building. Though the fire was quickly contained, firefighters say they will be on scene for hours, possibly into the night, because the home is filled with debris.

Seattle Police had been called to the vacant house before the fire. It is unknown if the two incidents are related.
