Senator wants the Super Bowl back in New York

NEW YORK – New York Senator Chuck Schumer is already thinking about bringing the Super Bowl back to New York and New Jersey.

He kicked off a multi-year campaign on Monday, lobbying to add New York to the list of regular cities that hosts the Super Bowl. Sen. Schumer argues the Big Apple should not have to wait another 48 years to bring back the big game.

“What the city and the NFL were able to pull off was short of remarkable,” Sen. Schumer said. “Fans came from all over the country to see everything our fair city had to offer. And by many accounts, it was the best Super Bowl week experience anyone has ever seen.”

The reason it has taken this long for New York to play host to the Super Bowl is because the NFL was concerned about games being played in an outdoor, cold weather stadium.
