Seahawks' Earl Thomas tweets he's considering retirement after breaking leg

SEATTLE – Uh oh.

Earl Thomas left the Seattle Seahawks’ game Sunday against the Carolina Panther in the second quarter with an injury.

Before the quarter was over, Thomas tweeted that a lot was going through his head - including retirement.

NFL.com's Ian Rapoport cited sources who said Thomas broke a bone in his leg. NBC reported at the beginning of the second half that Thomas had suffered a cracked tibia.

The Panthers scored a touchdown on a long pass on the next play after Thomas' injury.

Thomas was carried to the sideline, then carted off the field.

There was no immediate word on the extent of his injury. NBC reported near the end of the second half that Thomas had been taken in for X-rays, and that he left the X-ray room on crutches.
