Report: Russell Wilson switching jerseys for spring... again

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Russell Wilson plans to trade in the pigskin for a leather glove again soon, reports.

Wilson will again join the Texas Rangers during Major League Baseball's Spring Training this year in Arizona.

The Rangers drafted the Seahawks quarterback in the 2013 Rule 5 Draft. According to Sports Day DFW, the Rangers paid $12,000 to draft him.

If his role is anything like it was last year, Wilson's position with the team will be largely ceremonial. He spent just one day with the team last year, reports, and was tasked with giving motivational speeches and pumping up his teammates.

Russell might even take some grounders given his history in baseball. Before playing football for the Seahawks, Wilson was drafted by the Colorado Rockies in the fourth round of the 2010 draft. He hit .228 in one season with the team's Class-A affiliate and played second base.
