Record number of riders expected to pedal in Fred Hutch's 'Obliteride' cancer fundraiser



SEATTLE -- More than 1,400 bicycle riders are expected to participate this weekend in the 4th annual 'Obliteride" charity event aimed at raising money to help the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center put an end to cancer.

Since it started, Fred Hutch said, Obliteride has raised nearly nearly $8 million, with 100% of every dollar going to the Hutch effort to eliminate cancer.

Friday, Aug. 12: RIDER KICKOFF PARTY, Gas Works Park, 2101 N. Northlake Way, Seattle

4-10 p.m.: Celebration with Tom Douglas dinner and live entertainment.

 

Saturday, Aug. 13: RIDE STARTS, Fred Hutch campus, 1100 Fairview Ave. N., Seattle

7 a.m.: 150-, 100- and 85-mile route riders pedal out of Fred Hutch campus. (APPROX. 300 RIDERS)

7:55 a.m.: Riders leave on Bainbridge Ferry at Colman Dock.

 

Sunday, Aug. 14: RIDE AND CELEBRATION

8-10:30 a.m.: 50-, 25- and 10-mile riders start at Fred Hutch campus. (APPROX. 1,100 RIDERS)

10:30 a.m.-5 p.m.: Finish line celebration at Gas Works Park; open to the public.
