Rain late into tomorrow, but New Year's Eve celebrations look dry

SEATTLE -- Fog is dense this morning around the Sound and some fog could linger into our afternoon.

Mainly it's cloudy and dry with highs around normal, mid 40s.  Rain arrives late or overnight tonight into tomorrow morning. Dry by tomorrow afternoon, highs near 50.  It looks great for New Year's Eve festivities -- dry with temps in the mid 40s around midnight.

New Year's Day will be partly sunny with highs in the mid-to-upper 40s. Our next rainy systems arrives on Thursday with showers into Friday. The weekend looks dry again, and it'll be a little cooler -- highs in the low 40s, overnight lows in the mid 30s. No big snow in sight for skiers.
