Pullman police will issue tickets for large gatherings, chief says

People who attend parties or gatherings of more than 10 people in Pullman will be ticketed by police.

Chief of Police Gary Jenkins says his officers will issue tickets instead of warnings in an effort to combat the spread of coronavirus in the college town.

Recent changes in state rules by Gov. Jay Inslee limit gatherings to 10 people or less.

KREM-TV reports that police in Pullman will fine a party host $250 for the first violation and $350 for a second violation. After that, if someone continues to violate the rule, a civil infraction will turn to a misdemeanor.
