LACEY - Possible salmonella contamination has prompted a Lacey, Washington company to recall more than 226,000 pounds of processed egg products, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection service announced Saturday. Nutriom LLC produced the egg products between Feb. 28, 2013 and Feb. 8, 2014, and bear the establishment number "INSPECTED EGG PRODUCTS PLANT 21493G" inside the USDA Mark of Inspection, the Dept. of Agriculture said in a press release. The products were shipped nationwide and to U.S. military installations in the United States and abroad, as well as Canada.
The problem was discovered by Washington State Laboratories in response to a billing inquiry by Nutriom LLC. The laboratory then notified FSIS personnel of the discrepancies in laboratory results. FSIS and the company have received no reports of illnesses due to consumption of these products.
