Power restored after outage impacts 11,000+ in Seattle

SEATTLE -- A power outage in Seattle that impacted more than 11,000 people on Wednesday has been resolved.

Seattle City Light said Wednesday afternoon that crews were still searching for the cause. They said initial reports of a vehicle hitting wires were inaccurate.

The majority of people impacted by the outage were in the Beacon Hill and Rainier Valley areas. Power had been restored to all customers as of 5:27 p.m., Seattle City Light said on Twitter.

Sound Transit said Link light rail trains were delayed during the outage because traffic signals were out along MLK Way in South Seattle.
