Police searching for suspect who brutally attacked man in Seattle park

SEATTLE -- Police are searching for a man who attacked a 38-year-old Sunday night in Seattle's Victor Steinbrueck Park.

Seattle police said a witness saw a man choking another man on the ground around 7 p.m. Sunday. The witness initially pulled the suspect off of the victim.

Authorities said the suspect then returned to the unconscious man, who was lying face down, and stomped on the back of his head before picking up his upper body and slamming it on the ground.

Medics took the victim to Harborview Medical Center. He suffered life-threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a 40-year-old white male, 6' 5" tall, red-hair but balding, red beard, wearing a tan jacket, blue jeans, and tan boots.
