SEATTLE -- A 13-year-old boy was arrested near Eckstein Middle School after he stole a loaded gun from his grandmother's house Wednesday, police said.

A woman called police about 9:30 a.m. to report that her grandson had stolen the loaded antique German Luger and left the house.

Eckstein Middle School was placed on lockdown as a precaution, and officers located the teen a few minutes later nearby, police said.

The boy was booked into the King County Youth Service Center for investigation of theft.
