PHOTOS: High winds cause power outages, knock down trees



SEATTLE -- High winds with gusts over 60 mph caused trouble across western Washington late Saturday.

Tens of thousands of people lost power and trees toppled over in the wind.

At one point, the SR 520 had to close because the high winds were making it to dangerous to drive across.

As of Sunday afternoon, Seattle City Light had 925 scattered power outages.

Puget Sound Energy reported around 40,000 outages Sunday afternoon.

Snohomish PUD had 500 scattered outages -- down from 12,000 last night.

Tacoma Power, Mason County PUD #3, Peninsula Power and Light were all reporting that power had been restored.

Grays Harbor PUD reported scattered small outages.
