Murder Mystery: Help solve murder of father gunned down outside family's front door

KILLER WANTED IN KENT -- It was early in the morning when a husband and father getting ready to leave for work was murdered outside his home. “It just feels empty,” says Cindy Doeum, the sister of Sayha Doeum speaking for the first time about her brother’s murder. She continues, “My brother didn’t deserve it. He didn’t have any enemies and he had no involvement in anything and it just doesn’t make sense.” Sayha was getting ready to leave for work from his home in Kent in the early morning hours of May 30th, 2013. “As usual in the morning, he gets up. He leaves right around 5am, starts his vehicle from inside his house with the automatic start, lets it warm up, and then grabs his lunch and goes out the door,” Kent Police Det. Melanie Robinson explains. But on this morning, Sayha’s wife heard arguing outside. Detective Robinson says, “She heard yelling, a tussle, by the time she ran downstairs she heard three gunshots fired and by the time she was outside, there was her husband down on the ground in the middle of the roadway.”

The 32 year old father of three was killed right in front of his home. Det. Robinson adds, “The question is was this random or was this something that was wanted or intended.” Sayha’s wife saw the shooter from her bedroom window and says he was wearing a red bandana on his face and dressed in all black. Other than that, police don’t have a lot to go on. “From that point on she ran out and they fled,” Robinson says, “Unknown if in a vehicle, she was in such a panic that there was no description, we had absolutely nothing to go on.” Sayha’s family just wants to know why as they try and cope with this unthinkable tragedy. Doeum says, “It just feels empty. It just feel like I have a hole in my heart. It just doesn’t feel right. It doesn’t feel the same without him.” And police just need one tip to point them in the right direction to solve this case. “What’s most important is that obviously two people know what happened, and more likely than not, more than two people know what happened. Realistically we would like a tip, an anonymous tip, anyone that could come forward and assist us and put us in the right direction,” Robinson says. Meanwhile Cindy and the rest of Sayha’s family also want information. “If anybody has any kind of information or anything leading up to the arrest and charges of this horrible crime, if they could please step up.  My family and his children they need some sort of closure and we all need answers,”Doeum adds.
