FUGITIVES WANTED IN KING AND PIERCE COUNTY April 15, 2016 --
Detectives in King and Pierce counties say Lora and Sonya McKay are up to no good.

This is a case that began last fall when we first introduced you to a pregnant mom targeted by a thief. Laura Sivan's purse was stolen from her car as she dropped off her kids at daycare in Normandy Park last October. "It`s usually pretty quick, just in and out, drop them off, give them kisses, say goodbye. Two, five minutes max. I went to grab my phone to see what time it was, and there was no phone. My phone was in my purse and there was no purse.”

Within an hour, Normandy Park Police say this woman made almost a $1,000 worth of charges on Sivan's debit card in Des Moines and Federal Way.

“Right now we`re looking for Lora McKay, she also goes by Lora Contor,” says Normandy Park Police Det. Jeremy Hedrick. He says WMW tips to Crime Stoppers identified Lora, but they haven't' been able to find her. "Basically, her hustle is to wait outside daycares, as parents run their kids inside she breaks into the car and steals the purse and then is off using bank cards immediately."

He says Lora has about 50 aliases she's using to fly under the radar and is hitting in Renton, Kent, Tukwila and Pierce County.

She's often with her daughter, Sonya, who has a felony warrant in Pierce County after not showing up in court for a plea deal she struck after being caught with heroin. She’s also wanted in Pierce County for rendering criminal assistance and driving with a suspended license.

Det. Hedrick believes if they can find one, they'll find the other. “I want them really bad at this point. The problem with her is every day she`s not in custody, she`s out doing this exact same crime over and over and we`re seeing it throughout King County and Pierce County and she`s definitely wanted by multiple agencies at this point, so I personally want her in custody very much.” So does Laura Sivan, who knows she made a mistake when she left her car unlocked -- something she will never do again. I`m so paranoid now about making sure my car doors are locked. I press the lock button like 6 times, everytime I go now just to make sure.”

Lora McKay is the primary target and has warrants in King County for possession of stolen property and identity theft and is looking at more charges when she's caught.

She was driving a white convertible before, but detectives say the mother-daughter duo are now renting different cars.
