More than 25,000 toys dropped off: 'People are just extremely generous this time of year'

SEATTLE -- Thousands of unprivileged kids will soon be unwrapping new toys, thanks to record-breaking donations made in the Les Schwab Toy Drive.

Friday morning, volunteers loaded up trucks and started delivering the toys to the charities that are now tasked with getting them under the tree.

"People were coming into our stores with four, five or six bicycles," said Schwab store manager David McAllister. "One store got somebody who donated 50 basketballs. People are just extremely generous this time of year."
