Meet the homeless families benefiting from Starbucks' multi-million dollar donation

SEATTLE -- Forty-five newborns this year have lived in a Mary’s Place emergency shelter for families.

Every night, 500 families don’t have a place to call home.

It’s a growing crisis in the Pacific Northwest.

Starbucks wants to be a part of the solution. The Seattle-based coffee giant is joining the “No Child Sleeps Outside” campaign by raising more than $3 million while matching customer contributions.

That money will go to  Mary’s Place, the primary emergency shelter for homeless families in King County, allowing it to open more shelters and serve more families.

Matt Lorch wanted to see where that money will go and who it will help.
