Mayor Murray defends plan to spend $150 million to build new police precinct building

SEATTLE -- Mayor Ed Murray has been in the hot seat this week.  He getting sharply criticized for the $150 million new police precinct he wants to build  in north Seattle.

Opponents say the project costs way too much, and would be one of the most expensive police precincts in the country.

In an interview Wednesday with Q13 News, Murray defended the project.  He also discussed the rejection by the police union of the recent contact, and his controversial proposal to require Seattle businesses to provide secure and predictive schedules for their employees.
