Man's body found near train tracks in Auburn

AUBURN, Wash. (AP) — A BNSF Railway spokesman says a man's body was found near train tracks in Auburn Friday morning.

Gus Melonas says crews discovered the body on BNSF property around 10:30 a.m.

He says BNSF investigators are looking into the possibility that the man was struck by a train. Train crews were operating in the area and investigators are reviewing video.

The man's age and hometown were not known.

Melonas says freight trains are running through the area and he did not expect afternoon commuter train delays.

This is the 24th fatality this year on BNSF rail tracks in Washington state.
