Man killed half-brother with arrow, deputies say

ADDY, Wash. (AP) — Deputies in Stevens County say a 50-year-old man shot and killed his half-brother with an arrow.

KREM-TV reports that it happened Monday afternoon in the small community of Addy, about 55 miles north of Spokane.

Deputies arrived to find 46-year-old Brian Brodie, of Chewelah, unresponsive and bleeding heavily from an arrow wound. He was taken to a local hospital before being flown to one in Spokane, where he died Monday evening.

Stevens County deputies said Brodie and his 50-year-old half-brother, Raymond Rudd, had been in a fight when Rudd used a bow to shoot Brodie. Rudd was arrested and is being held at the Stevens County Jail for investigation of first-degree murder.

According to KREM, the news is turning the small town of Addy abuzz.

"A lot of people know each other around here and not a lot of things happen, so when it does, it catches a buzz," neighbor Jon Rivers told KREM.
