Man crushed to death at recycling plant identified

EVERETT -- A 23-year-old man found crushed to death at a recycling facility has been identified.

Travis A. Thurman died of blunt force crush injuries to the head and trunk, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner's Office said. He died by accident at a paper recycling facility in the 2600 block of 94th Street SW in Snohomish County.

Thurman was discovered by an employee at the Fibres International paper recycling center on Thursday. It is unknown if Thurman worked at the plant, or what he was doing near possibly deadly machinery.

Major crimes detectives conducted a death investigation, but determined there was no evidence the death was suspicious.

Fibres International was founded in 1974, and specializes in bulk recycling and paper shredding.
