Man accused of killing girlfriend in Pierce County arrested in British Columbia



PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. – A man who police say shot and killed his girlfriend in Pierce County was arrested across the border Monday in British Columbia.

Earlier in the day, Pierce County investigators released the mug shot of Jordan Eaton who they say killed his girlfriend, then fled in a van stolen from a business in Puyallup. Deputies said to consider Eaton armed and dangerous.

According to the Pierce County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 4:14 a.m. to a shooting in the 15100 block of 71st Ave. E. in the South Hill area. Deputies learned that Eaton, 26, allegedly shot his girlfriend inside the home, then fled on foot with a firearm.  

The female victim died from her wounds. She has not yet been identified.

Following the shooting, Eaton reportedly stole a van from a business on Valley Ave. NW in the city of Puyallup.  

At 2:00 p.m., Pierce County deputies said Eaton was arrested by Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Surrey, British Columbia. Eaton illegally crossed the border, they said, and was found at a hospital. Eaton ran from officers and was quickly caught and taken into custody.

Deputies said Eaton was armed. The stolen vehicle was recovered in Blaine, Washington by the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office.
