Lynnwood driver killed by suspects fleeing police

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE - A man and woman with outstanding warrrants crashed into another van Friday night in Mountlake Terrace, killing the 72-year old driver.  Lynnwood Police said that the 42-year old Snohomish county woman, who is a convicted felon, t-boned the victim's van at the intersection of 44th Avenue West and 212th Street SW around 8 p.m.  Police said that an officer tried to initially stop the woman's car near 196th Street SW but it sped off.  The officer pursued the suspect's car for about 2 miles when it crashed into the victim's van.

Police said that the woman was high on drugs at the time of the crash.  The victim, a man from the Lynnwood area, was transported to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he died.  The male passenger in the suspect's car, who is also a convicted felon, was transported to Harborview with serious injuries.  The female suspect was taken to Swedish Hospital where she was treated and then transported to the Snohomish county jail where she was booked for investigation of Vehicular Homicide.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner will perform an autopsy on the victim and release his identity.
