LIVE UPDATES: Snow begins falling in Western Washington

SEATTLE -- Snow is making its way into Western Washington!

Many local school districts sent students home early and other canceled afternoon and evening events (full list here).

Forecasters expect a couple of inches to stick this evening before the snow changes to rain by Friday morning.

The snow began falling in Portland Thursday morning. By 1 p.m. the snow had made its way into Lewis and Thurston Counties.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 4 p.m. Thursday through 8 a.m. Friday with about 1-3" snow expected for the lowlands.
