SEATTLE -- A large building caught fire Thursday afternoon in downtown Seattle.
Multiple Seattle Fire Department units responded to a vacant building fire at 1919 1st Ave. around 3 p.m. Thursday. The fire, believed to have started on the third floor, was upgraded to a 2-alarm blaze, SFD spokesperson Alice Kim said.
The fire was brought under control and extinguished a short time after crews arrived on scene, Kim said.
No injuries were reported. However, nearby Neighborcare Health was evacuated due to smoke from the fire.
As of 3:50 p.m., roads remained closed around the building.
