It's not rocket science... oh, wait

REDMOND -- Two teams from Washington are travelling to the nation’s capital this weekend to participate in the Team American Rocketry Challenge.

The teams from Skyline High School in Sammamish and Northwest Yeshiva High School on Mercer Island beat out 625 teams from across the country to make it into the top 100. The schools will participate in the world’s largest student rocket contest Saturday in Washington, D.C.

Each year, teams are given different objective to accomplish with their rocket.

Rocket“The challenge this year is to launch a rocket 750 feet and have it carry an egg horizontally,” explains Ian Walp.

“They design, construct, launch a rocket, all on their own,” Fowler said.
