REDMOND, Wash. -- An owner of a new consignment shop is still shaken after a man dropped off a bag of dresses at her store that also contained a KKK hood and robe.
Leona Coakley-Spring opened Rags to Riches Consignment in Redmond a couple of months ago. This week, she says a man came into her store and left a KKK robe. She believes this robe is a threat as a black business owner.
"I didn’t know what to do or what to say," Coakley-Spring said Thursday night. "It was just so horrifying."
Leona, and her son Shane, called police. The Redmond Police Department says it is taking the case very seriously. Detectives sent a bulletin to surrounding departments to ask for leads. They also released a sketch of the harassment suspect.
Leona is still very upset however.
"I can’t change the way I look," she said. "But it makes me feel like I’m not good enough. And that’s a bad feeling to have, that you’re not good enough."
If you know anything about the incident, you are being asked to call the Redmond Police Department.
